Geoffrey J. Farwell is a seasoned trust and estate litigator with over a decade of experience representing clients in complex probate matters. He focuses his practice on trust, estate, and inheritance disputes, including trust contests, financial elder abuse actions, contested conservatorships, accountings, shareholder disputes, and breach of fiduciary duty claims.
Geoff has successfully guided clients through every stage of litigation, from pleadings and discovery to trial preparation and appeals, including briefing and oral argument before the California Court of Appeal. In addition to his litigation practice, he has drafted and advised on a wide range of estate planning and business governance matters.
Recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2022 and 2023, Geoff is also a contributor to the Probate Attorneys of San Diego Probate Handbook (2019–2021) and has served on the Executive Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association’s Estate Planning, Trust, and Probate Law Section.
Geoff earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, where he served as Articles Editor of the Journal of Climate and Energy Law. He also holds both a B.S. in Business Administration and an M.B.A. from the University of Redlands.
Outside of his practice, Geoff is committed to mentorship and professional development within the legal community, and he takes pride in helping families and fiduciaries navigate some of the most challenging and sensitive disputes they may face.
